Meet

Jessie Plain

Aanii Jessie Plain n’dizhnikaaz, Aamjiwnaang Doonjibaa. Hello my name is Jessie Plain and I am from Aamjiwnaang First Nation.

I have grown up here most of my life aside from schooling where I attended Lakehead University in Thunder Bay. While at Lakehead I completed the Honours Bachelor of Aborginal Education Program followed by the Masters of Education program. I am passionate about lifelong learning as well as education and the Ojibwe language and culture. I enjoy working with youth and sharing our learning together as I believe there are always things we can learn from anyone we cross paths with. I have worked in elementary and secondary schools teaching Ojibwe, arts, kindergarten and land-based learning for the past 10 years. I currently live in Sarnia with my two sons where we enjoy the outdoors and adventuring. I enjoy watching my sons play sports and spending time with my family.
