Anishinaabemowin Instructor (Independent Contractor)

Level B Ojibwe (LNOB0) – Summer 2026 | Online

The Kinoomaadziwin Education Body is seeking an experienced and passionate Anishinaabemowin instructor to deliver a Reach Ahead summer course for secondary students. This online course focuses on Level B Ojibwe (LNOB0), with an emphasis on oral communication and culturally grounded learning.


About the Role

  • Deliver an engaging e-learning course from July 2–31, 2026
  • Provide 1 hour of live (synchronous) instruction daily
  • Create lessons that reflect Anishinabek perspectives and culture
  • Support student success through ongoing assessment and feedback
  • Teach using the D2L virtual learning platform
  • Report to the Virtual High School Principal

Contract Timeline

June 22 – August 14, 2026


Location

This is a fully remote position. Reliable internet access is required.


Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification
  • Fluency in Anishinaabemowin (preferred)
  • Experience with online teaching tools/platforms
  • Strong understanding of First Nations culture
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • AQ in Teaching Ojibwe/Anishinaabemowin (asset)
  • Ability to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
