Anishinaabemowin Instructor (Independent Contractor)
Level B Ojibwe (LNOB0) – Summer 2026 | Online
The Kinoomaadziwin Education Body is seeking an experienced and passionate Anishinaabemowin instructor to deliver a Reach Ahead summer course for secondary students. This online course focuses on Level B Ojibwe (LNOB0), with an emphasis on oral communication and culturally grounded learning.
About the Role
- Deliver an engaging e-learning course from July 2–31, 2026
- Provide 1 hour of live (synchronous) instruction daily
- Create lessons that reflect Anishinabek perspectives and culture
- Support student success through ongoing assessment and feedback
- Teach using the D2L virtual learning platform
- Report to the Virtual High School Principal
Contract Timeline
June 22 – August 14, 2026
Location
This is a fully remote position. Reliable internet access is required.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification
- Fluency in Anishinaabemowin (preferred)
- Experience with online teaching tools/platforms
- Strong understanding of First Nations culture
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- AQ in Teaching Ojibwe/Anishinaabemowin (asset)
- Ability to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
